My first memory of Rogers as a kid is linked to the Rogers building at Port Louis which was a symbol of Port Louis and the corporate world.
When VLH and Island Living became Rogers Hospitality we went on a bus tour for a week to meet and talk to our team members around the island. The sense of unity, of our resilience during the covid pandemic and of our friendship was strong. The various team members I met during that week made me realise how blessed we were to have such a fantastic, passionate and genuine team. Since that week I know our biggest strength is our TEAM and I feel very privileged to belong to that team.

I started to work for Veranda Palmar Beach Hotel on 26th October 1998, as Mini club attendant, at an early age of 19 years old. It was hard to adapt for my first 3 months to work in the hotel industry, but gradually I found it fun to interact with other people from different countries. I’ve been promoted to Guest Relation Officer and then to Front Office Supervisor.
I’ve also met my husband at the hotel, he was from the Food and Beverages Department and then he decided to take other challenges. I worked in the Front Office Department for 13 years and decided to move to the housekeeping department for a new experience and indeed it was very different compared to the task from Front Office. There has been a lot of new challenges, but with a positive mind, I’m still here, where I belong to and very happy to be part of this family of Rogers Hospitality for 26 years of service.

In my nearly four years at Domino’s, I have grown significantly, both personally and professionally. I began as a Supervisor in 2021, where I quickly adapted to the fast-paced environment, overseeing shifts, training new team members, and ensuring exceptional customer service. This role taught me the importance of communication, teamwork, and problem-solving during high-pressure times. In 2023, I was promoted to Restaurant Manager, a role in which I took on broader responsibilities, including managing store operations, setting and achieving sales goals, and ensuring compliance with company standards. This position allowed me to further develop my leadership skills, focus on operational efficiency, and work closely with my team to maintain a positive workplace culture.
My time at Domino’s has been a rewarding journey of continuous learning and growth, with each role enhancing my management capabilities and deepening my commitment to quality and service excellence.

I clearly remember my first day coming in for an interview at Rogers House. It was December, and Port-Louis was buzzing with holiday activities. But up on the fifth floor, it was so quiet - everyone was out, getting ready for the office party later. After my interview, as I walked through the empty, impressive office, I couldn’t help but think how great it would be to work there. It’s amazing to think back to that day and see how everything has unfolded since then.
One of my most cherished experiences at Rogers Group has been leading the communication of the 'Bouze Zenes' initiative, which has transformed lives in Bel Ombre by empowering our youth. Equally meaningful is my role in the Diversity and Inclusion committee, which we affectionately named 'Comité du Grenier', where we were dedicated to advancing diversity and inclusion within the Group. These roles have allowed me to not only witness but also be part of the meaningful change - fostering a culture of inclusivity and opportunity that resonates deeply with my own values. It's incredibly rewarding to be part of shaping a better future at Rogers.

Family
I was 5 years old when my father had to go to South Africa for a hernia operation. My mother accompanied him and I was to stay with my siblings. I was very sad and scared about my parents leaving me behind. My Dad took me to Rogers House to book and pay for his tickets. When I entered Rogers House the atmosphere of the building felt like stepping into a dream, where reality and fantasy intertwine. There was a kind of magic in the air that made everything feel surreal and special. I was overwhelmed by feelings of excitement, admiration and the buzzing energy flowing in the building. I was impressed by the classy airline attires. I felt connected, bonded and in harmony with the place; like a sense of union. My parents flew on South African Airways and the image of the majestic SAA Jumbo 747 with the orange tail and Suid-Afrikaanse Lugdiens (the Afrikaans name for South African Airways) written on the plane is still fresh in my mind. Sixteen years after I proudly joined Rogers Aviation. My first job and and only place of work since then. I fell in love, got married, got my kids and went through many good and very hard times in my life but Rogers stayed in my life all way through. It's a part of me, my essence, my existence. Rogers is my first family.
I was pregnant of my second child and only learnt about it when I started bleeding at work and was carried to the doctor. The doctor did a painful injection and asked me to stay in bed as the next 24 hours would be crucial in me keeping my child. That same night there was an urgent medical case to be uplifted on the next morning flight and when I heard about it, I immediately agreed to walk 4 floors down the stairs and come to the office (I was the one living nearest to the office). I was asked to break open the cupboard with the help of the security to get hold of manual tickets (the key was with the cashier who stayed in the south) and do all the process for the stretcher authorization. I left office around 02H00 am still with pain but with a feeling of accomplishment. The medical case flew on the next day and in South Africa they discovered that the doctor in Mauritius had given a wrong diagnosis and he didn't have any tumour. Sometime after I nearly delivered my baby at the office; but this is another anecdote :) The patient as well as his whole family came to thank me and till now the brother of the patient always introduces me as the lady who did an exceptional gesture and somehow saved his brother's life.

I started my journey with the company when I was just 20 years old, working on various sites around the island. It was my first real job, and I gave it my all.
Two years later, my hard work was recognised, and I was promoted to Forklift Driver—a step that made me feel proud and motivated to keep growing. At 30, the company secured a big contract with the Marine Ports Authority (MPA) for container deliveries, operating 24 hours a day, seven days a week, for about 1½ years. It was a challenging period, working long shifts, but it paid off.
The extra income allowed me to complete the construction of my house, a goal I had been working toward for years. Over time, I had the opportunity to work on many different projects, including assignments at suites all over the island. These experiences broadened my horizons and made me more versatile in my work. Outside of my regular duties, I found another passion—football. Today, I proudly serve as the trainer of the Velogic Football Team.
Under my guidance, we achieved a significant milestone, winning second place in the 1st Division—a moment of great pride for me and the team. Now, at 60 years old, I look back on my journey with gratitude. I’ve grown alongside the company, achieved personal milestones, and built lasting relationships.
As I continue working until retirement, I feel a sense of fulfilment knowing how far I’ve come and the legacy I’ll leave behind.

My first memory of Rogers is going to Rogers House for the first time during the ENL and Rogers integration process. Taking the metro to Port Louis Victoria Metro Station (later that day, a colleague from Rogers told me that I can get off at Place d'Armes next time, which was easier), I remember looking out the window and seeing, in the distance, this building, so well-known to Mauritians. I thought to myself, here I am, about to step inside in a few minutes, take the elevator to the fifth floor, and officially begin my new journey with another major and diversified group in Mauritius.
It’s been five months since I began working for Rogers Group, and one of the most memorable experiences so far has been the opportunity to explore Bel Ombre, Rogers' territorial brand, through a full-day photoshoot.

Legacy
I remember, as a child, going to Port-Louis with my mother every Saturday. We’d pass by Rogers House, that grand building that seemed to hold an air of mystery. Standing in front of it, I felt so small. I would look up in awe, my mind racing with curiosity, wondering what incredible things might be happening behind those walls. To me, it was a place of secrets and stories, a world of grown-ups that I was eager to one day understand. Little did I know then that Rogers House wasn’t just a building; it was a symbol of growth and ambition on the island, representing a legacy of resilience and innovation that has shaped the Mauritius we know today.
Although I joined the Rogers Group only recently, I already feel a strong sense of belonging, thanks to the incredibly warm welcome from my team. Moving to Rogers represents a pivotal step in my career, and I was deeply inspired not only by the vision that guides the Rogers Group but by the passion and dedication of the people I now work alongside. Seeing firsthand the commitment to growth and innovation, I look forward to being part of the journey ahead.

Conclusion : Aujourd'hui, en tant que Head of People Operations and Expérience, de Rogers Hospitality, pour le cluster Quick Service Restaurant et Leisure, je réalise à quel point mon parcours a été un mélange de défis professionnels et d’humanisme.

Meaningful Change
Every journey has its milestones, but my time at Rogers has been much more than a mere path—it has been a vibrant tapestry woven with memories, growth, and meaningful connections that I will treasure forever. After spending five years in South Africa, I joined SOFAP, a subsidiary of Rogers at the time. The blend of excitement and nervous anticipation I felt on my first day was unforgettable. It marked a fresh start filled with opportunities to learn, contribute, and grow. What stood out to me immediately was the warm welcome I received—the genuine smiles, the camaraderie, and the sense of belonging that set the tone for the remarkable journey that followed.
Among my most treasured memories are the collaborations I shared with my colleagues. Whether brainstorming innovative solutions, overcoming challenges as a team, or enjoying a light-hearted laugh during breaks, these moments of connection were invaluable. My coworkers became more than colleagues; they became my second family. Together, we built an environment that nurtured creativity, support, and success. After a decade at SOFAP, I transitioned to Desbro, another subsidiary of Rogers at the time. This shift marked a pivotal moment in my career. A special project I worked on with my colleagues proved to be not only impactful but also a valuable learning experience. It reinforced the importance of teamwork, determination, and perseverance, leaving me with lessons I carry to this day. I eventually transitioned to Rogers Property, where I gained invaluable insights and knowledge. They say, "Work hard, play harder," and my time there truly reflected this philosophy. While I often worked beyond regular hours, the experience extended far beyond professional growth. It was enriched with countless moments of celebration and joy—be it team outings, festive gatherings, or simple acts of kindness among colleagues. These experiences underscored that a workplace isn’t just about deadlines and tasks; it’s about the people and the relationships that make it special. In 2014, I transitioned to the Rogers Corporate Office in the Legal department — a significant shift after spending much of my career in operational roles. This move introduced me to a completely new environment, pushing me to adapt, build resilience, and broaden my horizons. It became a journey of personal and professional growth, enriched by mentors who guided me, colleagues who supported me, and challenges that motivated me to aim for excellence. I still vividly remember the day the corporate office unveiled its new logo under the theme of "Meaningful Change". As the first to arrive at the office that morning, I was truly mesmerised by the transformation. The vibrant new colors—blue and red—marked a striking departure from tradition, the first such change in decades. We were given small gifts to celebrate the occasion, and I felt an immense sense of pride to be part of this momentous milestone. I was also entrusted with the responsibility of stepping in as the executive secretary for Philippe Espitalier-Noël during his assistant’s holidays, a challenging task that truly tested my abilities. Looking back, I can proudly say, "I did it." Looking back, I am filled with immense gratitude—for the opportunities I was given, the challenges that define and refined me, and the incredible people who made every day meaningful. My time at Rogers has been nothing short of extraordinary. It’s a chapter of my life that I will always reflect on with fondness, pride, and a deep sense of fulfillment.

Experiencing the company's culture for the first time was my biggest highlight up to now. The emphasis on innovation and community involvement was evident and I'm still proud to be a member of the Roger's family for more than 13 years now!
My journey with Rogers Group has been an enriching experience, spanning over 13 years. I began as a casual waiter at Heritage Le Telfair and gradually worked my way up, holding various roles from waiter to head waiter, and later transitioning into the maintenance department as maintenance coordinator. After eight successful years in Bel Ombre, I moved to Veranda Tamarin, where I took on leadership roles as maintenance supervisor and sustainability officer, helping the hotel earn prestigious awards such as The Pledge on Food Waste, the Green Key certificate, and a Silver Award at the Mauritius Sustainable Awards. My most recent role as Maintenance Executive is a testament to the opportunities for growth within the company, and I'm proud to continue contributing to its success. A big thank you for the trust!

My first memory of Rogers is one that still stirs emotions in me. It was my first day, walking into the building for the very first time, feeling both nervous and excited. The sight of the Rogers logo, standing tall and proud, immediately caught my attention. It wasn't just a logo, it was a symbol of a legacy, of something much bigger than myself. I remember pausing for a moment, feeling a deep sense of awe, and knowing right then that this was where I wanted to be. Walking into the office for the first time, I was immediately struck by the blend of tradition and modernity that Rogers embodies. There was an air of history, with the company's journey spanning over a century, but also a forward-thinking culture driven by innovation and a diverse range of services across Finance, Technology, Hospitality, and more. The warmth of the people, the welcoming atmosphere, and the stories I heard from my new colleagues about their own journeys with Rogers made it all feel so special. I was stepping into a place with deep roots, where every person, every desk, every corner seemed to carry a piece of history. It wasn't just a job: it felt like I was becoming part of a family that had endured and thrived for over a century. That sense of belonging and pride in being part of something so meaningful is my first and most cherished memory of Rogers. I was inspired by the company's resilience and its ability to continuously evolve while maintaining a deep connection to Mauritius. This first impression, of a company that bridges the past and future, left a lasting mark on me, reinforcing my excitement to contribute to its ongoing success as it celebrated 125 remarkable years.
I remember my first day at Rogers Group so vividly, like it was yesterday as I have recently completed my second year on 18th of October 2024. It was on the fifth floor at Rogers House in Port Louis, and the moment I arrived, I was greeted by a stunning path lined with artificial tall palm trees, their leaves swaying gently with soft lights twinkling in between. It almost felt magical, as if the scene was designed just to welcome me into something special. But what really took my breath away was when I saw the Rogers logo shining into the reception wall. In that instant, I felt a deep connection, an unexplainable pull. I knew, without a doubt, that I wanted to be part of this legacy. I fell in love with the company right then and there. It wasn't just about wanting a job; I wanted to belong, to contribute to this storied institution at all costs. In my journey through the workplace, I've had the privilege of working with people from all walks of life, spanning every age group. But among them, two colleagues who have now retired hold a special place in my heart. Despite the years that separated us, they became more than just co-workers: they were mentors, companions, and friends. From the very beginning, they took me under their wings, not with cold instructions, but with patience, warmth, and a sense of care that can only come from experience. We shared countless moments, the kind that aren't scheduled or marked on calendars, but remain engraved in memory. That moment standing there, under the glow of the lights and the majestic palms marked the beginning of a journey I will always cherish. It wasn't just the start of my career at Rogers; it was the start of something much bigger, a feeling that I was stepping into a family with a history and heart that I would soon be proud to call my own.

The building! My father used to work in this building when Air Mauritius was based at Rogers House. I often came with him during school holidays and wished I would also work here went I grow up. I would often pause for a moment, imagining myself as part of the vibrant team within those walls. The thought of contributing to such a prestigious company filled me with determination and hope. It was more than just a building; it was a symbol of my ambitions and the future I envisioned for myself.
When I joined the group in 2018, I was pleasantly surprised by the warmth and friendly atmosphere. I remember my pre-onboarding was a lunch with all members of HR team where I got to know them. Another aspect that surprised me when I joined: everyone, regardless of their level, is approachable, and experts are eager to share their knowledge. New ideas that challenge the status quo are always encouraged and welcomed.

My first memory of Rogers is learning about its role as our parent company and recognising its strong presence in the industry. This connection made me feel a part of a larger, well-established network right from the start.
A particularly memorable moment during my work with the Rogers Group was when I joined the Graduate Leadership Management Training programme, led by Mehul Bhatt, the Managing Director of General Cargo Services Ltd, Velogic Kenya. My first memory at Heritage Golf Club is a bit of a blur, filled with new faces and unfamiliar surroundings, as it was my very first job just after I had recently graduated. I vividly recall the excitement and nervous energy that seemed to hum in the air. Everyone was incredibly welcoming and helpful, which quickly put me at ease. Looking back, it's amazing to see how far I've come and how much I've learned since that day. I'm grateful for the opportunity to be a part of this team and for all the experiences, both big and small, that have shaped my time here from a golf course starter to an assistant golf operations manager. Having worked for four editions of the prestigious Afrasia Bank Mauritius Open at Heritage Golf Club has been an honor. The opportunity to contribute to such a prominent tournament has been both rewarding and enriching. The dedication and passion of the team behind the scenes ensured the event's resounding success. It was a privilege to witness the world's best golfers compete at such a high level.

My earliest memory of Rogers Group is a childhood fascination with the towering building in Port-Louis with my cousins during holidays. Flash forward years after, my journey with Rogers Group began in 2012 as a Front of House Receptionist at Voilà Hotel. I am grateful for the opportunities that have come my way, and I am excited to contribute to the bright future of this iconic organization. As Rogers Group celebrates its 125th anniversary, I join in the celebration with a heart full of gratitude. It's a testament to the vision, hard work, and unwavering commitment of countless individuals who have shaped this company into a beacon of excellence. Here's to many more years of growth, innovation, and unforgettable experiences.
As I reflect on my time with Rogers Group, a wave of nostalgia washes over me. It feels like just yesterday I was a wide-eyed young professional stepping into the world of hospitality at Voilà Hotel, my very first job. Little did I know this would be the beginning of a transformative journey that would shape both my career and my life.
I still remember the feeling in my tummy before my very first client check-in—a mix of fear and excitement. Today, I am a passionate and confident woman in the hospitality industry. I am deeply grateful to all the people who have accompanied me on this journey and shaped the woman I am today.

When my Hotel Manager Béatrice informed me about my enrollment for the much exciting adventure for the course of RISE with two awesome individuals whose name are Flavia and Shraddha.
Having had to have a dinner with my client at the Restaurant of Voilà Hotel, whereby leading us me and my client towards an incredible friendship. That dinner evening is indeed a memorable one and we both still talk about the 1st new movie or serial we are going to watch on Netflix. With Rogers, we indeed create mauments! We live it, experience it, and capture memorable moments!

Entering Rogers House as a proud staff with my Rogers polo shirt on.
One memorable moment was during the launch event of Rogers Capital Finance Ltd. As one of the first employees, I felt an overwhelming sense of pride when we unveiled our vision to clients and partners in the stunning Rogers House. Seeing my childhood dream come to life, I remembered my parents' words about the importance of the Rogers Group. The atmosphere buzzed with excitement and hope for our future, and I was honoured to represent a legacy that had shaped so many lives. That day solidified my commitment to the group and reminded me that dreams can indeed become reality with dedication and passion. It was a pivotal moment that underscored not just my personal achievement, but also the collective ambition of our team.

L'union

The heartiest welcome I received from the first day of my interview up to my joining day and all the transparency from all the personnel etched my mind in such a way that I feel like family since day one.
The moment I was invited to join for an interview despite being just a newcomer in the company and the ability to express myself and open minded and growth since day one and valorise you as a person and professional mark my journey in this wonderful company.

I was just 16 years old when I joined the company as a cleaner for bulk sugar containers. It was my first step into the working world, and I could never have imagined then how much this company would shape my life. At 24, I was given an incredible opportunity. The company supported me in obtaining my driving license and later encouraged me to follow a course at IVTB to earn my forklift license. These qualifications opened doors for me, allowing me to take on new responsibilities and grow professionally.
The company didn’t just help me in my career—they also supported me in my personal life. They granted me an advance on my pay, which allowed me to place a deposit for the purchase of my house. Later, they extended the same generosity when I was preparing for my wedding. These moments stand out as examples of how much the company has cared for its employees.
Today, at 56 years old, I feel nothing but gratitude. The opportunities and support I’ve received over the years have changed my life for the better. As I continue working, I look forward to staying with the company until my retirement, proud to be part of this incredible journey.

The first memory of Rogers is vividly tied to the excitement of starting a new chapter in my career.
125 years of Excellence: My personal growth with Rogers. As we celebrate Rogers' 125th anniversary, I find myself reflecting on the incredible growth I've experienced over the past four years. Rogers is known for its logistical expertise, but what truly makes this company stand out is its commitment to developing its employees and fostering professional growth in every aspect of our work. During my time here, one of the most valuable opportunities has been the range of professional skills training Rogers provides. These courses go beyond the technical aspects of logistics, focusing on essential skills that can be applied across all areas of business. I've had the chance to participate in several programs that have made a significant difference in my day-to-day responsibilities and in my interactions with both colleagues and customers. A course that had a profound impact on me was focused on enhancing communication and interpersonal skills. Effective communication is the backbone of strong business relationships, and through this training, I learned techniques to better engage with customers and colleagues alike. It helped me understand how to listen more actively, present information clearly, and navigate difficult conversations with confidence. This has been invaluable in fostering stronger relationships with clients and ensuring their needs are met in a way that leaves a lasting positive impression. Rogers has also provided training on customer relationship management, which has been essential in helping me handle professional dealings with more confidence and ease. This training highlighted the importance of understanding customer needs, anticipating challenges, and consistently delivering solutions that exceed expectations. It's these kinds of activities that have strengthened my ability to build trust and long-term partnerships with our clients. Rogers' emphasis on customer satisfaction is something that truly aligns with my values, and it's rewarding to be part of a team that places such importance on these relationships. Another area of growth has been time management and organisational skills. Rogers encourages us to be more efficient and effective in our work, and the training I received on this subject has enabled me to prioritize my tasks, meet deadlines, and maintain a high level of productivity, even when faced with tight schedules. These skills have not only made me more organised but have also improved my ability to manage multiple customer accounts and projects simultaneously. The benefits of these programs extend far beyond just improving my professional capabilities: they have also enriched my overall experience at Rogers. These opportunities for growth and development show that Rogers invests in its people, ensuring that we have the tools and skills necessary to thrive in an ever-evolving industry. It's this commitment to continuous improvement that has made my time at Rogers so fulfilling. As we celebrate 125 years, I look forward to what the future holds. Rogers has built an incredible legacy of excellence, and I am proud to be part of this journey. With the professional skills I've gained and the strong relationships we continue to build with our customers, I know that Rogers is poised for even greater success in the years to come. Here's to Rogers' 125 years of building connections, fostering growth, and delivering exceptional services and to the bright future we are all helping to shape together.

125 Years of Meaningful Change My path at Rogers began in July 1987. Rogers is a well-known organisation around the world with diversified business units. This was a challenge for me when I joined Rogers. Working at Rogers, we feel honoured to be part of the family, a team with the same vision, mission and objectives. Rogers continues to grow locally and internationally, to reinforce its employees base as well, while contributing to the economic and social development of the country. The good memories at Rogers are: 1. Friendly atmosphere within which we operate 2. End of year parties 3. Fun days 4. Get together When we will discover the hidden talents of our colleagues.

Visionary
Back in 1997, fresh out of school, I joined Cargo Express without knowing what to expect. I had no clear idea of where I was headed or what my role within the company would be. The team welcomed me warmly, and it did not take long for me to feel a profound sense of camaraderie and belonging. I was very fortunate to have incredible mentors and colleagues, who generously shared their knowledge and guidance. These few years at Cargo Express were life transformative. This triggered a deep passion within me for the supply chain industry and laid the foundation for my career. I had finally discovered my path; thanks to Cargo Express for my first three years in the professional world.
In January 2020, after many years of exploring different horizons, life brought me full circle, I was back in the Rogers Group, with the amazing Rogers Hospitality Team at Mapou - full of energy, excitement and past experiences. My excitement was however cut short in March 2020 - there came the infamous Covid-19 pandemic. Borders were closed and the hospitality industry came to a standstill. Shortly after, one thing became clear and my fear was gone forever: Rogers Group was built on resilience and forward thinking. New projects and exciting challenges were in the pipeline. Five years later, I look back with immense pride and gratitude on what has been and will be achieved, and how lucky I am to be surrounded by amazing mentors, colleagues and friends. Thank you Rogers Group, Thank you Rogers Hospitality.

Supportive
I received a special bonus just two months after joining the team, before the year-end on June 30, 2022. During those two months, I faced the challenge of losing two key team members who left for new opportunities, and another who had to step away due to health issues. Despite these setbacks, I successfully met management's expectations by taking on the roles of Senior Client and Team Leader for the departed employees, while also serving as Assistant Manager for my team. I vividly recall being called in September by my Head of Department to collect my bonus letter, despite initially believing I wasn't entitled to one. It truly is a place where hard work and dedication are recognized and rewarded.
The story I wish to share emphasises the powerful belief that hard work always brings success, based on my personal experience. Upon joining Rogers in 2022, my second appraisal recognised my managerial qualities. However, this acknowledgment coincided with a challenging period of health issues. As we approached the end of the financial year, with the pressure to complete all financial statements (FS), I battled a persistent lung issue that resisted medication. A high fever compounded my struggles, intensified by an unrelenting workload to complete the FS. Despite medical advice to rest, I prioritised my work and continued pushing myself. I remember arriving at work feeling dizzy and unwell, prompting my Head of Department Manesha to insist I see the office doctor. On the way to the doctor's office, I realized my condition was worsening. The next thing I knew, I was waking up on the floor. Despite this setback, I continued working remotely to finalize the pending FS. Once my health improved, Manesha commended my dedication and affirmed my potential for managerial excellence. I was subsequently promoted to manager. This story underscores the importance of chasing one's dreams and the belief that hard work pays off, even in the face of adversity.

Inspiring
Love at first sight.
One Friday afternoon, the company announced a big upcoming project that would require collaboration between the creative and analytical teams. Mia (fictitious name) was assigned to lead the creative side, while Ethan (fictitious name) was tasked with providing the necessary data insights. As they started to work together, something unexpected happened. During their brainstorming sessions, Mia' enthusiasm began to draw Ethan out of his shell. He found himself captivated not just by her ideas but by her passion for the work. Mia, on the other hand, discovered Ethan's sharp analytical skills and the way he effortlessly translated complex data into compelling narratives. Their synergy was undeniable, and they began to spend more time together, both in and out of meetings. One late afternoon, as they reviewed the project's progress over coffee, the conversation shifted from work to personal stories. They shared their dreams and aspirations, finding common ground in their love for travel and adventure. The chemistry between them grew, and the office, once just a place of routine, started to feel more like a shared journey. As weeks passed, their collaboration flourished. With Mia's creativity and Ethan's analytical prowess, they crafted a compelling campaign that wowed their clients and exceeded expectations. Their teammates noticed the positive energy that radiated from them, and it inspired a ripple effect throughout the team. Productivity soared as others became motivated by Mia and Ethan's passion and teamwork. One evening, after a successful presentation to the clients, Mia and Ethan stepped out for a celebratory dinner. As they laughed over shared stories and toasted their success, Ethan took a deep breath: "I've really enjoyed working with you" he said, his eyes sparkling. "I feel like we make a great team." Mia smiled, her heart racing. "I feel the same way. It's like we bring out the best in each other." With the city skyline twinkling behind them, they shared their first kiss. From that moment, their relationship deepened. They supported each other through challenges at work, celebrated victories together, and continued to inspire their colleagues. As their romance blossomed, Mia and Ethan became a dynamic duo not just in love but also in the workplace. Their combined energy led to even greater success, as they initiated team-building activities and mentorship programs that transformed the office culture. People felt more connected, engaged, and motivated to contribute their best. Months later, when the annual company awards came around, Mia and Ethan received recognition not only for their outstanding project but also for their role in fostering a collaborative and positive work environment. Standing on stage together, they realized that their relationship had not only changed their lives but had also positively impacted everyone around them. As they looked out at their cheering colleagues, Mia whispered, "We really did spark something amazing here." Ethan smiled, squeezing her hand. "And this is just the beginning." With love and ambition intertwining, they knew they were ready to face any challenge together, both at work and in life.
My journey with Rogers began in 2019 as a Board member of Rogers Capital. This role gave me a clear vision of the Group’s ability to create opportunities that go beyond business and positively impact lives. Experiencing how Rogers’ values: Agility, Engagement, and Excellence, are woven in its culture gave me a deeper understanding of how this Mauritian Group creates meaningful change across industries.
When I first joined Ascencia in 2020 as an Asset Manager, I discovered the heart of the company: its people. Their entrepreneurial mindset, creativity, and resilience became particularly evident during the pandemic, one of the most challenging periods in recent history. Even while the malls were closed, the team worked tirelessly to support tenants and safeguard customers.
Initiatives like the tenant relief plan, the Safe Shopping campaign, and B’Local at 42 Market Street, a space for empowering small businesses at Bagatelle Mall, brought hope and opportunity when it was needed most.
These moments were a reminder of what Rogers stands for: supporting communities and bringing people together. They strengthened my belief in Ascencia’s mission and inspired me to take on the role of Chief Executive Officer (CEO) in January 2024.
Today, Ascencia is more than just a portfolio of shopping malls; it’s about creating unique spaces where people come together to share memorable moments.
We are also concerned about our carbon footprint and aim in mitigating our impact on the environment by implementing various actions such as the use of renewable energy, the sorting of our waste whilst partnering with our tenants to shape a more inclusive and sustainable future.
As Rogers celebrates 125 years of vision and transformation, I am proud to lead Ascencia in carrying this legacy forward. Together, we aim to create spaces that enrich lives, strengthen communities, and ensure that the human stories behind our successes continue to inspire for generations to come.

Togetherness
On my first day at Rogers Aviation, I got an unexpected gift and that gift was the welcome with a genuine smile of all the teams, starting from the HR that encouraged me to climb the stairs and achieve what I achieved today. I heart-fully thanks my manager and the HR who always push me to learn more, making each day a new adventure to explore.
Each day at Aviation is like a new territory to conquer for me, so no place for boredom!
Anecdote: During covid, there were no 'levels of staffs'. I remember, to get the budget reports done, we all put our minds and resources available above all to get the work done.
Lesson: I'm enjoying to-date, being in Rogers is like "The best adventures which I begin with a single step outside of my comfort zone."
