Its imposing building on the freeway in the 1990s...
As the newly appointed CEO of Beachcomber Resorts & Hotels, I am honoured to lead a company whose history is deeply intertwined with Mauritius and Rogers, our main shareholder. Our journey began in 1952 with the opening of the Park Hotel in Curepipe, Mauritius’ first hotel, marking the birth of the island’s hospitality industry. This pioneering spirit has defined Beachcomber, with Rogers as a key partner in our growth and shared legacy from the very beginning.
Over the years, this partnership has driven significant milestones—from the development of iconic resorts that set the standard for Mauritian hospitality to our commitment to excellence and sustainability, which have established Beachcomber as a leader in the industry.
Together, we have contributed to Mauritius’ reputation as a premier destination.
As we celebrate Rogers’ 125th anniversary, it is a fitting moment to reflect on this remarkable journey and the enduring connection between our two companies. We are proud to honour this shared history and look forward to building on the strong foundation we have laid together.
A Journey of Meaningful Change with Rogers. As a proud Mauritian, my journey with the Rogers Group has been nothing short of transformative. I vividly remember my first encounter with Rogers during a community event in Port Louis. The warmth and dedication of the team left an indelible mark on me. Over the years, I’ve witnessed Rogers’ unwavering commitment to sustainability and meaningful change, not just in business but in the lives of countless Mauritians. One particularly memorable moment was during the festive season last year. Rogers organised a heartwarming Christmas event for underprivileged children in our community. The joy and laughter that filled the air as the children received their gifts and enjoyed the festivities was truly magical. It was a testament to Rogers’ ethos of giving back and making a difference. This 125th anniversary is a celebration of not just a company, but a legacy of positive impact and community spirit. Rogers has been a beacon of hope and progress, and I am honoured to be part of this ongoing narrative. Here’s to many more years of meaningful change and shared success.
My first day at work
I began my journey with Rogers Group, a chapter that changed my life forever. While pursuing my professional dreams, with so many up&downs I met the love of my life. What started as a workplace encounter blossomed into a beautiful relationship that led to marriage 👰♂️. Together, me and my partner embarked on life’s adventures, facing challenges and celebrating milestones. Our commitment to each other and our shared vision brought about incredible success. Among our proudest achievements was buying the dream home—a symbol of love, partnership, and dedication❤️❤️❤️. Now, as a loyal wife, a loving mother to two amazing kids, and a hardworking individual, I continue to cherish the little joys of life, especially cooking for my family. Our story is a beautiful reminder that with love and determination, dreams can indeed come true. #thanksRogersGroup
My six years at EnAtt serving Ascencia have been incredibly rewarding, marked by a continuous learning curve and enriching experiences that have driven both my professional and personal growth. With the guidance of knowledgeable mentors and the support of a collaborative team, I found the motivation to overcome challenges and achieve new milestones.
I am deeply grateful for the opportunities and continuous support I’ve received. Beyond my professional journey, it has also transformed my personal life. I’ve achieved financial stability, gained greater confidence, and sharpened my emotional intelligence.
Thank you, Ascencia and the EnAtt team, for being an integral part of my journey—you’ll always hold a special place in my heart.
My first memory of Rogers Malls was as a frequent visitor, enjoying the shopping mall. When I started working at Bagatelle Mall, it was an entirely new experience, the evolving bond between our tenants and visitors, and how we all work together as one team. Through shared learning and collaboration, we continuously create memorable experiences for everyone who steps into the mall. It’s rewarding to be part of this collective effort, where we grow together and build lasting connections.
One experience that stands out was during a holiday season at the mall. We were organising a large Christmas event, and there was a huge rush to get everything in place on time.
The whole team, from marketing to maintenance, created a magical atmosphere for our visitors. I remember staying late with a few team members, decorating and arranging activities, while sharing stories and laughs. When the day arrived, seeing families enjoy the festive ambience we had all worked so hard to create was incredibly rewarding. Moments like these capture the spirit of Ascencia working as one team to bring joy to our community.
Rogers building at John Kennedy Street
I was a kid and, every time I was passing, I used to think to enter the building. Then, when I started working for a company, I went there one day to drop an envelope at US Embassy which is there.
My travel and tourism project
Rogers Hospitality.
For my HSC travel and tourism project, I got the chance to be fully sponsored by the Heritage Awali Golf and Spa Resort and be guided by Flavio Joseph, a sustainable coordinator, who made sure everything was perfect for my big day. It was the experience of a lifetime.
You guys make sure that you improve the education system when contributing to sustainable development goal number 4: quality education. By highlighting my project, you made sure that my CV was bolstered up with this amazing experience and I'm pretty sure that it was the same for a lot of students. Our sustainable development goals conference was a success.
The Rogers Hospitality group also spotlighted us on their platform. We'll be forever grateful for the experience. Long life Rogers team!
