Meaningful
My first memory of Rogers dates back to when I joined the team on the 8th of January 2024 and walked through the doors of Rogers House in Port Louis. The building itself, with its rich history, had always been a landmark from my childhood, but it was only on that first day as a new member of the Rogers family that I truly understood its significance. Being in a place so steeped in heritage, where so many have contributed to meaningful change over the years, gave me an immediate sense of pride and belonging.
While I may not have the years of history with Rogers that some of my colleagues do, my ten months here have been nothing short of transformative. Starting at Rogers House in Port Louis, a building that had always been emblematic in my childhood, I quickly realised that Rogers is not just a company but a living legacy. Moving to ENL House in Moka brought me closer to my roots, as my grandmother worked in this very place decades ago. Through the stories and guidance of colleagues who've been working for Rogers for a very long time, I've learned that Rogers is defined by its people, their dedication, passion and commitment to meaningful change. It's through these relationships that I've truly experienced the essence of Rogers, a place where history and innovation merge to create a brighter future. Though my time here is short compared to those who have been with Rogers for decades, I am proud to be part of this legacy, contributing to a story that has been 125 years in the making. Here's to meaningful change and the many more stories yet to be written.

The building! My father used to work in this building when Air Mauritius was based at Rogers House. I often came with him during school holidays and wished I would also work here went I grow up. I would often pause for a moment, imagining myself as part of the vibrant team within those walls. The thought of contributing to such a prestigious company filled me with determination and hope. It was more than just a building; it was a symbol of my ambitions and the future I envisioned for myself.
When I joined the group in 2018, I was pleasantly surprised by the warmth and friendly atmosphere. I remember my pre-onboarding was a lunch with all members of HR team where I got to know them. Another aspect that surprised me when I joined: everyone, regardless of their level, is approachable, and experts are eager to share their knowledge. New ideas that challenge the status quo are always encouraged and welcomed.

Joining Rogers Aviation was an unforgettable experience from the very start! I was warmly welcomed by the Human Resource Manager, Frederic Curé, whose friendly demeanor instantly made me feel at home. His genuine enthusiasm for the company and its culture set a positive tone for my journey ahead.
Throughout my first days, I encountered many delightful anecdotes that showcased the camaraderie among the team. One of my favourite aspects has been our Friday happy hours at the office in Ebène. These gatherings not only allow us to unwind but also foster connections and laughter, making the workplace feel like a close-knit community. Overall, my introduction to Rogers Aviation has been filled with warmth, support, and a sense of belonging that I truly cherish!

The iconic building when I would visit Caudan during my school holidays and at that time, i used to look at the skyscraper and wished that some day I would get to work at Rogers.
Rogers Capital is one of the first company that I worked for in Mauritius after having lived abroad for 14 years. It was quite a leap of faith as I was not sure if i would be able to adapt with the work environment and if I would be able to meet my employer's expectation. But the people that I have been working with has made work worthwhile and I have not looked back since. Very early on, I implemented the first Graduate Program (Xcelerate Graduate Program for Fiduciary services). The program was very well structured where fresh graduates have the opportunity to be rotate across department within a given time period, were provided with a series of behavioral training (e.g. presentation skills, grooming, customer service etiquette) at the time of joining and were assigned a dedicated Mentor at senior leadership level. The graduates were assessed based on their performance, behavior and attitude at the end of every departmental rotation and at the end of the program, they were required to present a business solution and share their learnings in front of the Managing Director as well as other key senior leadership members. The program was a success as it was an innovative way to integrate new talents to shape our working culture, build a polyvalent talent pool of people who are readily available in the midst of high attrition rate and this also built on our retention strategy by keeping them engaged throughout the program and they even recommended their peers for the next intake. I had the opportunity to present the successful program during the CAP26 presentation for the People Strategy in front of all the leaders of the Rogers Group in the year 2022. This was the highlight of my career in Mauritius and it surely gave me more motivation to work towards excellence in full pioneering spirit at all time. Today, I have also been promoted from the initial role I started from an HRBP to a People Development and Experience Manager which I believe is a step forward towards my career progression.

My first memory of the workplace was during my initial orientation. I recall feeling a mix of excitement and nervousness as I was introduced to my team and the company's culture. The warm welcome from my colleagues and the informative sessions about our goals and values made a lasting impression. It was inspiring to see the collaborative spirit and commitment to excellence that defines our work environment, setting a positive tone for my journey here.
One particularly memorable moment during my time with the Rogers Group was when we successfully launched a major project that required extensive collaboration across departments. As the deadline approached, we faced several challenges that tested our problem-solving skills and teamwork. I vividly remember a late-night brainstorming session where team members from different backgrounds came together, sharing ideas and strategies. The energy in the room was electric, and it was inspiring to see everyone's commitment to achieving a common goal. When we finally launched the project on time, the sense of accomplishment was overwhelming. It reinforced the power of collaboration and highlighted the supportive culture at Rogers Group. This experience not only strengthened my professional relationships but also deepened my appreciation for the teamwork that drives our success.

Coming to Port Louis with my dad on Saturdays and passing by the huge Rogers House. At that time I felt so tiny in front of this building.
One of the most memorable experience was the renovation of several floors of Rogers House by Rogers Capital, especially witnessing the change that occurred on the emblematical 3rd floor of the building. The moving in was also an intensely emotional moment.

My first memory of Rogers is sitting on the white sofa in the reception area before my interview. I was immediately impressed by the ambiance - the soft lighting and the charming little alley surrounded by pebbles at the entrance. The trees, which I couldn't quite identify as coconut or palm, added to the inviting atmosphere. It truly felt like a place where I could see myself working.
One of the most memorable aspects of working with the Rogers Group is the unwavering support within the team. Whether it's tackling a challenging task or navigating tight deadlines, everyone is always willing to lend a hand. The collective commitment to each other's success not only enhances our productivity but also strengthens our team dynamics, making each challenge an opportunity for growth.

In my first week with Rogers Aviation, I received an urgent call while at Plaisance Air Transport Ltd. An incident involving one of our clients had occurred aboard a catamaran sailing near Rivière Noire, and I was needed on-site immediately. I was new to driving, and I rushed from Plaine Magnien to Rivière Noire to investigate. It was an intense introduction to the fast-paced, unpredictable nature of my role, quickly teaching me the importance of readiness and adaptability in the field.
One of my most memorable experiences was during the early days of the COVID-19 pandemic. We were all facing uncertainty, and safety had never been more critical. My team and I worked tirelessly to establish new protocols, ensuring our office and site was as safe as possible. It was challenging, but seeing how everyone from leadership to front-line employees came together with a shared sense of responsibility was incredibly inspiring. That experience highlighted the resilience and unity within the Rogers Group, and it reinforced my commitment to keeping our people safe, no matter the challenge. Celebrating 125 Years of Rogers Group: my journey in Health and Safety As we celebrate Rogers' 125th anniversary, I reflect with pride on my own journey within this iconic company. It all began in 2015 as a trainee at Rogers House, a place that would lay the foundation for my career. By 2016, I was appointed Safety and Health Officer, managing safety for Croisières Australes, Blue Alizé, Islandian and Plaisance Air Transport Services (PATS). Each experience offered valuable insights into diverse operational environments. In 2018, I took on the challenge of establishing health and safety standards at ENL Property, and the onset of the pandemic in 2020 pushed me to adapt quickly and ensure the group's safety protocols were effective and resilient. The role of Health and Safety Manager at Rogers Corporate Office came in 2022, giving me the opportunity to oversee safety practices across the group. The integration with ENL in June 2024 marked yet another exciting chapter in my career, bringing new experiences and opportunities for growth. These milestones have shaped not only my professional development but also my commitment to Rogers' enduring legacy. Here's to the journey ahead and the many more milestones yet to come.

To say the least, I was lost and unable to actively participate in the discussion. The purpose of the meeting was the set up of a property fund. After a few months and meetings, I was more involved in the project, and in December 2008 (if I am not mistaken), Ascencia started its operations. Today, the company is listed and generates more than a billion rupees of PAT. I was fortunate to participate in the creation of such a successful company.

Our move from the 3rd floor to a beautifully designed new office on the 5th floor, Rogers House.
My story: ''My journey with Rogers Group began in April 2006, and it has been an incredible experience of growth, connection, and family. When I first joined, I thought I was just working, but I didn't realize I was building lifelong relationships and being part of a supportive community that genuinely cares for each other. It all started at Cerena Group in Trianon, where I worked in the HR department under the leadership of Mr. Bertrand Abraham. After a year, I moved to Rogers House, joining the HR team with Mr. Manish Bundhun as Chief Human Resources Executive. In 2008, I had the opportunity to be among those who moved to our new head office, where I worked in the Communication Department, coordinating our monthly newsletter 'Network' and our prestige magazine 'Presence,' while also collaborating with the Finance Department on publishing our Abridged Results. In August 2013, I transitioned to Rogers Capital Technology Services Ltd (formerly EIS Ltd) as an HR Officer. It was a significant change, and soon after, in November 2013, my life took an unexpected turn when my husband passed away after a brief illness. I was devastated! But I will never forget the love, support and compassion I received from my Rogers family. Mr. Kabir Ruhee, my then-Managing Director, reassured me during my difficult time, saying, "In life, your health comes first, then your family, and third your work. Go take care of your husband and family. They need you now, and we will wait for you." Those words gave me the strength I needed. Our Group CEO, Mr. Philippe Espitalier Noël, called me in person to show his sympathy and Mr. Manish Bundhun and my colleagues collected funds as a sign of their care. I was deeply moved by their actions, and for which I am forever grateful. In 2017, I faced another challenging time, battling depression. Thanks to my family, friends, colleagues, and unwavering faith in God, I overcame this phase. Despite my struggles, in 2018, I was promoted to Human Capital Business Partner for our Technology sector. However, recognizing my health limitations, I requested a reduction in responsibilities to avoid the stress that might trigger a relapse. In 2019, I transitioned to the role of Office Administrator, overseeing facilities across five floors and leading a team of 17 administrative staff. I also had the opportunity to coach them in customer service, grooming, and personal development, thanks to the support of my former boss, Mr. Fabrice Baillache. My passion for sustainability led to a new role in 2022 as Sustainability and Facilities Officer, where I focused on impactful initiatives like supporting NGOs, uplifting women, and collaborating with Junior Achievement Mascareignes and the Fam-Unie Foundation to foster community growth and empower women. Currently, I serve as the Sustainability Champion and Vice-Chairperson on the Health & Safety Committee, demonstrating my dedication to corporate responsibility and employee well-being. My past involvement with our Welfare Committee also speaks to my commitment to a positive workplace culture. I would like to thank Ms. Diya Kinnoo, our Head of HR, for her trust and belief in me. On a happier note, I met my current husband at work back in 2014; we were both working at EIS Ltd, and we married in 2018. Balancing my professional journey at Rogers with my personal life, I have found immense joy and fulfillment. Today, I am a proud mother of a 23-year-old son completing his first degree and an 11-year-old stepdaughter already in college. At Rogers, placing PEOPLE at the heart of our business is what drives our success, and I believe that every team member brings a unique contribution. I have a strong sense of belonging to Rogers Capital and strive to embody our values of Agility, Excellence, and Pioneering in my daily work. I look forward to expanding my knowledge and fostering a culture of sustainability across Rogers Capital. I want to extend my heartfelt thanks. To my former colleagues: Meera Gourdeale, Mary Muthusawmy, and Sandra Lam from Rogers and Company Limited To all my colleagues from ex-EIS Ltd, now Rogers Capital Technology To all my current colleagues at Rogers Capital, particularly those I work closely with: The Rogers Capital HR Team, Jaivina Bauljeewon, Arunah Sookur-Rambarun, Karishma Beharee, Roselle Eleonore, Jayshree Bhikoo, Vinessa Ramsamy, and Sharmila Teelwah. To all my RCMS colleagues on the 2nd floor To the Sustainability Team: Bandish Augnoo, Priscille Noël, and Mickael Appaya To the Property Management Team: Annabelle Koenig, Natheraje Nellapin, and the Security Team. Cheers to all, and HAPPY 125TH ANNIVERSARY TO ROGERS! GOD BLESS!

As a child, I remember hearing the name Rogers talked about at family gatherings. Back then I did not know what Rogers stood for, but it left an impression on my childhood brain that it was a 'larger than life' organization where important people work.
I was moving back to Mauritius after having lived more than a decade abroad. It was equally daunting and exciting to be at the starting line of building a new life. The Rogers Group helped me do that; it offered me a job where I could contribute my experience and new colleagues that helped me fall in love again with the Mauritian culture.

My father served the group for over 20 years. Thanks to his job, I was lucky enough to visit and stay quite often at my favorite hotels: Veranda Palmar, Veranda Grand Baie, and Veranda Pointe aux Biches. I loved the Ti Momo kids club, beaches, restaurants, and hospitality of the personnel. These hotels became my childhood havens. It was around that time, when I was eight, that I asked who actually owned them and was told that it was the Rogers Group. I thought the group was a team of guys all named Rogers then, I didn't quite grasp what a body corporate was, but Rogers was already a big deal to me!
I only joined the group earlier this year, but it already feels right to pen this testimonial. As some of the veterans say, Rogers' blue blood runs through my veins. I grew up with Rogers' values unknowingly. I was drawn towards meaningful change, excellence, agility, innovation, sustainability and aimed to be part of it all someday. Rogers was my first choice after graduating in 2018. Since then, I made my way to the Rogers family and now I am proud to also drive sustainable growth of Mauritian businesses and communities. Today, I am having the chance to work and set in motion these values through social projects, the integration of our head offices and our culture programme. I am confident that together we will achieve many more milestones.

Stepping into the office as a fresh graduate, filled with excitement and a bit of nervousness. I remember being welcomed by my colleagues and immediately feeling a sense of belonging. My first day as a trainee in Health and Safety at Rogers & Co Ltd was a mix of learning the ropes and absorbing the company culture, which emphasized teamwork and excellence. It was a pivotal moment that set the tone for my journey with the company, sparking my passion for health and safety and shaping my career path.
I have been with the Rogers group for 15 years, currently employed as Safety and Health Officer at Rogers Capital. Looking back, it's been an enriching journey filled with growth, challenges, and opportunities. I joined Rogers fresh out of university, starting my career as a trainee in Health and Safety at Rogers & Co Ltd. During those early years, I worked under the guidance of Mr Dave Chamary, a seasoned expert whose leadership played a key role in my development. On-the-job learning proved to be a world apart from university theory, and I quickly grew under Dave's mentorship. He eventually entrusted me to manage operations on my own, a challenge that helped me gain confidence in my skills. I was also assigned to Fine Foods Marketing Ltd and Scott & Co Ltd, fulfilling safety duties under our service agreements with these companies. After 9 months of probation, I was confirmed in my role as Safety and Health Officer, which gave me a great boost of motivation to continue achieving success and proving my expertise. I'm grateful to Manish Bundhun for having confirmed my post, a decision that greatly encouraged me in my professional journey. After two years at Rogers & Co, I was transferred to Veranda Leisure and Hospitality Ltd, now known as Rogers Hospitality. Based in Bel Ombre, I was responsible for the safety of over 1,200 employees across several properties, including Heritage Awali, Heritage Le Telfair, C Beach Club, Villas Valriche, Heritage The Golf Club, and Château de Bel Ombre. Managing the health and safety needs of such a large operation was both challenging and rewarding. I led ISO audits, inspections, and compliance checks, ensuring that our reputation for excellence remained intact. Conducting compliance checks with various tour operators from different countries was a particularly valuable experience, giving me deeper insights into international standards and broadening my expertise. It was an intense learning experience that shaped both my personal and professional growth. After seven fulfilling years at Rogers Hospitality, I embraced a new challenge at Rogers Capital. This move introduced me to an entirely different environment, particularly with Rogers Capital Technology. Here, I faced the task of managing safety for complex operations involving towers and poles installed across Mauritius and Rodrigues. With no handover, I had to build the framework from scratch - implementing policies, procedures, conducting risk assessments, and training employees in hazardous activities. Then came the COVID-19 pandemic, adding yet another layer of complexity to our work. Despite these challenges, I was promoted from staff to management level, further expanding my responsibilities, thanks to the unwavering support of Mr. Fabrice Baillache, who provided all the guidance I needed. At Rogers Capital, we are certified with ISO 9001 and ISO 27001, and I have successfully navigated multiple audits with flying colours. The opportunity to lead new projects, like conducting inspections and risk assessment of towers on Rodrigues Island, continues to drive my passion. Moreover, conducting on-site inspections, managing risks, and working closely with different teams have been instrumental in my growth. I've also built strong relationships with sector MDs, and I'm grateful that my efforts have been met with positive feedback. With the support and encouragement of my head, Mrs. Diya Kinnoo, I'm confident that I will continue to thrive and take on new challenges that contribute to Rogers' future success.

Reflecting on my 35 years with Rogers, I see a clear pattern: every leader I've collaborated with invited me to join their team. Each time, I took the leap and embraced new opportunities, for which I am deeply grateful. Rogers places a strong emphasis on competencies, attitude, and behaviour, fostering an environment for growth. Thank you, Philippe, for being such an inspiring leader.

My first memory of Rogers is quite special, especially as I'm new to the company. As a child, I often visited the iconic Rogers building in Port-Louis with my family to plan our travels at the travel agency. Now, seeing how Rogers has expanded into Rogers Capital Technology is truly inspiring. It's amazing to be part of a team that continues to innovate and grow!
Although I'm still new to the Rogers Group, one memorable moment stands out for me: my very first team meeting. I walked in feeling a mix of excitement and nerves, but everyone was incredibly welcoming. The atmosphere was so positive, with team members eager to share their ideas and experiences. It was inspiring to hear about the exciting projects underway and how passionate everyone is about their work. I particularly enjoyed a story someone shared about a successful collaboration that led to a significant breakthrough. It really highlighted the supportive culture here and made me feel like I was joining a family. I'm excited to contribute my own experiences and create more memorable moments as I grow with the team!

My first memory of Rogers starts in September 2022 when I began my internship in the finance department of Rogers Capital Credit and Financial Services. I was excited but also a little nervous. I was there to learn, and I ended up gaining much more than I expected. Right away, I noticed that the team was short-staffed, so I was given tasks that usually belonged to full-time employees. This pushed me to grow and develop my skills quickly. One of my favourite moments was during the Diwali party. We had to make a quick trip to the warehouse for a product audit because someone from the recovery section was leaving. It was a funny day; we all wore traditional Indian outfits, and the festive atmosphere made everything feel special. Balancing work and celebration created a memorable experience. Celebrating Diwali and Christmas during my internship made me feel like I belonged to a close-knit community. When my last day arrived on December 31, 2022, I felt a mix of sadness and hope, knowing I would return. In November 2023, I joined the Fiduciary team as an Xcelerate graduate, allowing me to learn about different departments. By May, I became a client accountant in the Client Accounting Department, which has been both challenging and rewarding. Looking back, I can say that Rogers has been a big part of my happiness and growth. Each day adds to my sense of peace and success, and I'm excited to continue this journey.
A memorable experience at Rogers: My time in the Xcelerate Program One particularly memorable moment during my time at Rogers was my experience in the Xcelerate Program, especially in the Client Accounting Department. This phase was incredibly engaging and involving, as I dove deep into managing accounts and tackling various challenges. The staff turnover during that time meant that we were often stretched thin, but I was fortunate to have supportive mentors who guided me through the tough days. There were moments of long hours and intense workload, but I embraced the challenges wholeheartedly. My hard work and dedication didn't go unnoticed; I felt appreciated and recognised as a valuable part of the team. Every memory from that time, especially the festivals we celebrated together, made the experience even more special. The camaraderie and joy during these celebrations added a personal touch to our busy workdays, making the challenges worthwhile. Overall, my time in the Xcelerate Program reinforced my commitment to the team and left me with lasting memories.

In May 2004, I had the opportunity to experience a training course together with Raoul Maurel conducted by Dr David Freemantle on the famous BUZZ concept – an essential tool for the personalization of all the services that we provide to our guests and making each minute of our guests stay ‘truly authentic moments’. In April 2005, Raoul was appointed as the Buzz Manager and he made the BUZZ become a way of life & a driving force philosophy in our daily tasks & activities, so as to make the difference at all times within the group Our mission was to think outside the box and challenge oneself to come up with creative ideas based on simplicity and elegance. The passion for the BUZZ concept inculcated to me by our Buzz Manager, contributed largely to my success in the Buzz competitions held within the group in mid 2005.
With a strong emphasis on exceptional customer service, our company has set a benchmark in the hospitality industry, and this commitment has fuelled my passion for working with Rogers Hospitality for the past 21 years 4 months.
I take immense pride in being one of the original members of the opening team at Heritage Awali Golf & Spa Resort, where I continue to thrive and contribute to its success. My career began in the hospitality sector as a Public Relations Officer at Marina Resort & Club, Anse La Raie which was a member of Veranda Resorts by then, and through perseverance, I have cultivated expertise across various roles in Human Resources at Heritage Awali Golf & Spa Resort, Bel Ombre.
This journey has led me to my current role as a People Operations Specialist. Each position has allowed me to develop a deeper understanding of people management, problem-solving, and fostering a collaborative environment, aligning perfectly with my personal motto: "We rise by lifting others." Highlights of my journey include: Earning the titles of Best VLH Ambassador (2017) and Best Heritage Resorts Ambassador (2018), underscoring my dedication to quality, service, and fostering a positive workplace culture. Actively contributing to the Heritage Resorts Ambassadors Programme, which honed my skills in quality assurance and service excellence. Driving impactful strategies for our internal customers—Our People—while remaining steadfast in my dedication to our shared vision.
As I look to the future, I am eager to further showcase my commitment to enhancing our company's culture, service excellence, and team well-being. My journey exemplifies my belief: "Once a Rogers Ambassador, always a Rogers Ambassador."
May this adventure continue with renewed passion and purpose.

I don't have personal experiences or memories, but Rogers & Co. is a well-known conglomerate based in Mauritius. It was founded in 1899 and has since grown into one of the most prominent companies in the country. Rogers operates in sectors such as aviation, logistics, hospitality, and financial services. They are particularly recognized for their involvement in hospitality through VLH, which manages hotels like Heritage Resorts, as well as other businesses contributing to the economy of Mauritius.
While I don't have personal experiences, a particularly memorable moment within a company like the Rogers Group could be the successful launch of a major initiative, such as a sustainability project or a groundbreaking partnership that significantly impacted the community. For example, moments of innovation, like spearheading eco-friendly hospitality efforts, or key milestones such as large-scale infrastructure development, would be deeply memorable. These experiences often highlight the company's commitment to growth and societal impact.

My first memory of Rogers as a kid is linked to the Rogers building at Port Louis which was a symbol of Port Louis and the corporate world.
When VLH and Island Living became Rogers Hospitality we went on a bus tour for a week to meet and talk to our team members around the island. When I joined the Rogers Group in 2001, I started my journey at GS Informatique Ltd, which was within the group's 'engineering cluster,' as a Sales Engineer. At the time, our office was a rented, two-storey house on Mere Barthelemy Street in Port Louis. All I knew is that I took immense pride in being part of such a renowned group. A year later, I got my first promotion as Customer Service Manager, a significant milestone in my career. With the promotion came a change in scenery; my workspace shifted from the second floor to an office area under the staircase, marking a new chapter in my professional life! We embarked, soon after, on the renowned ERP project, JDEdwards. Within the support department, the transition from manual entries in Excel sheets and the so-called 'Field Service Reports' registers to the new ERP system was a major challenge. This change required adaptability, persistence and a collective effort to embrace new technology. Together with my team, under the guidance of my ex-boss Cyril Chee Kim Ling, someone to whom I will always be deeply grateful, we successfully navigated through these changes. The experience strengthened us and made our process management more efficient. During these years, my personality was shaped and I grew alongside the company. What started as a team of 40 has now flourished into the Rogers Capital Technology family of 160 employees, a transformation I am proud to have been a part of. People often say that time flies and I never truly realise that I have lived 23 years of passion and agility with my colleagues and team members, always striving towards achieving excellence. I am proud and grateful to my colleagues and friends with whom I have shared these invaluable moments and thank you to my leaders for believing in me and always pushing me to reach new heights!

Legacy
Is a memory ever truly a moment, or is it the echo of what that moment awakens within us? My first memory of Rogers wasn’t about what I saw or heard—it was the shift in how I felt. It was the realization that this place wasn’t just built on processes or goals, but on the invisible threads of purpose, connection, and shared ambition. It made me question: Do we shape the places we belong to, or do they shape us? Perhaps my first memory of Rogers wasn’t about arriving—it was about becoming.
We are more than the tasks we complete or the deadlines we meet—for We 'R' the passion that drives progress. We are more than the titles we hold or the recognition we receive—for We 'R' the purpose that inspires excellence. We are more than the success we achieve or the challenges we face—for We 'R' the resilience that shapes our legacy. We ‘R’ something deeper—something shaped by the hands of time, by the lessons of experience, and by the wisdom of those who walked this path before us. Over the past seven years, I have had the privilege of embarking on a journey through the many facets of Rogers Capital. Each department I’ve worked in has offered a unique lens through which to understand the heartbeat of this organization. This journey has been far more than a professional experience—it has been a profound education in resilience, collaboration, and purpose. By delving into the intricacies of business operations and processes, I’ve come to appreciate the seamless interplay of people, ideas, and innovation that drives this company forward. Toward what stands out most about my time here is not a single moment, but the collective experiences that have shaped my understanding of what this organization truly represents. Every role I’ve taken on, every process I’ve mastered, and every challenge I’ve faced has deepened my connection to the company’s unwavering commitment to excellence. Trust was built in moments when the complexity of operations felt overwhelmed, yet it was in those very moments that I witnessed the power of collaboration and shared purpose. Whether it was streamlining a process, solving a critical issue, or simply supporting one another through demanding times, these experiences revealed something extraordinary: Rogers is not just a company. It is a living, breathing embodiment of what can be achieved when people unite with a shared vision and passion.

My first coffee at Veranda Grand Baie hotel and Spa.
Throughout my journey at Rogers Hospitality, I have experienced continuous growth in my skills, responsibilities, and leadership capacity. Beginning in 2019 as a Human Resources Officer at Veranda Grand Baie, I quickly adapted to the company’s unique culture, which helped me develop a deep understanding of the values and operational standards upheld across different properties.
Transitioning to Veranda Palmar Beach as a People Operations Assistant allowed me to hone my skills in employee relations and operational support, while managing daily HR functions with precision. This role strengthened my adaptability and introduced me to the dynamics of supporting efficient operations in a busy hospitality environment. My transfer to Veranda Tamarin provided an invaluable opportunity to lead the HR department, where I gained experience in managing teams, implementing retention strategies, and developing training programs. This leadership role helped me build strong decision-making skills and increased my capacity for strategic planning.
The grand reopening of Veranda Grand Baie was a pivotal point in my career, as I was entrusted with overseeing the induction of new employees, a role that enhanced my organizational skills and taught me the importance of a strong onboarding experience. Managing dual responsibilities at both Veranda Grand Baie and Voilà Bagatelle helped me improve my multitasking and prioritization abilities.
In April 2023, I was promoted to People Operations Specialist for Quick Service Restaurant, marking a significant milestone in my career. In this role, I am responsible for overseeing people operations in a high-demand environment, which has further developed my leadership skills, strategic thinking, and capacity to drive impactful initiatives tailored to the unique needs of quick-service hospitality.
Reflecting on my growth at Rogers Hospitality, I feel a deep sense of accomplishment and gratitude. Each transition has been an invaluable learning experience, shaping not only my skills but also my perspective on leadership and people operations. Being promoted to People Operations Specialist was a defining moment that validated my hard work and reinforced my dedication to this field.
I'm proud of the journey and excited to continue evolving within Rogers Hospitality, where every role has deepened my commitment to making a positive difference.

Walking into Rogers House for my first job interview at Rogers House in the Mezzanine floor with Eddy Jolicoeur, my predecessor in HR. Everyone was not only courteous but also very professional. After the interview, I was also given my personality profile report with a debrief. The way I felt welcome impressed me and made me feel at home instantaneously. Getting a call the next day to inform me that I had been selected to join Rogers Logistics as HR Manager was one of the most joyful moments of my career! My induction happened at Rogers House and I still remember the tour of the offices on my first day, going around to meet colleagues and leaders from the various departments and business units in the building.
There are many so moments I have with Rogers. Let me share 3 of my most memorable moments:
In 2007, I was working in Rogers Logistics and got to travel to India to open the new offices in New Delhi and doing interviews to recruit team members. I fondly recall travelling with my colleagues Laurent Bourelly, Nicholas Park, Denis Hung and Daniel Ng to attend board meetings with our JV partners in Chennai.
In mid 2008, I was promoted as Chief HR Executive after meeting Philippe Espitalier-Noel and for an interview for the post. It was probably one of the most joyful and impactful moments in my career as I was promoted to Rogers Group HR Head at the age of 28! It showed the Group’s philosophy of promoting competence and diversity while growing talent from within. I still recall my first meeting with Philippe where he shared his vision of the HR function and expectations from me to help him shape the future focused on Agility, Leadership and Dynamism. He shared how he wanted Rogers to represent the true spirit and essence of ‘Mauritianism’ while also focusing on diversity, competence and professionalism. One thing that Philippe told me has stayed with me since then: Don’t hesitate to go out in the world and bring back the best international practices to Mauritius and Rogers.
At the end of 2008, we got to move to our new offices on the 5th floor of Rogers House. While compact and on one floor only, the corporate office set up was groundbreaking with modern furniture, lots of light and space, while overlooking Port-Louis for all 4 sides of the building. It felt modern and cosy at the same time. This office became my second home for almost 16 years, where I forged many friendships, worked on numerous projects and strategic plans while also creating fond memories such as the Children Christmas parties, staff briefings, Lunch get togethers, bring and share, Health talks as well as strategic plan and budget presentations. It showed our commitment to be a people-focused workplace that also meant business in a modern and professional way.

I received a special bonus just two months after joining the team, before the year-end on June 30, 2022. During those two months, I faced the challenge of losing two key team members who left for new opportunities, and another who had to step away due to health issues. Despite these setbacks, I successfully met management's expectations by taking on the roles of Senior Client and Team Leader for the departed employees, while also serving as Assistant Manager for my team. I vividly recall being called in September by my Head of Department to collect my bonus letter, despite initially believing I wasn't entitled to one. It truly is a place where hard work and dedication are recognized and rewarded.
The story I wish to share emphasises the powerful belief that hard work always brings success, based on my personal experience. Upon joining Rogers in 2022, my second appraisal recognised my managerial qualities. However, this acknowledgment coincided with a challenging period of health issues. As we approached the end of the financial year, with the pressure to complete all financial statements (FS), I battled a persistent lung issue that resisted medication. A high fever compounded my struggles, intensified by an unrelenting workload to complete the FS. Despite medical advice to rest, I prioritised my work and continued pushing myself. I remember arriving at work feeling dizzy and unwell, prompting my Head of Department Manesha to insist I see the office doctor. On the way to the doctor's office, I realized my condition was worsening. The next thing I knew, I was waking up on the floor. Despite this setback, I continued working remotely to finalize the pending FS. Once my health improved, Manesha commended my dedication and affirmed my potential for managerial excellence. I was subsequently promoted to manager. This story underscores the importance of chasing one's dreams and the belief that hard work pays off, even in the face of adversity.
